The presentation of the IdeAward in this anniversary year is entirely in keeping with the entrepreneurial spirit of TUM founder Karl Max von Bauernfeind, whose 200th birthday celebration will be observed on this coming November 28, 2018.

The IdeAward prizes are presented for inventions and technologies that exist in the form of dissertations, Bachelor’s or Master’s theses or other types of project work and offer potential for economic utilization.

The competition is conducted by TUM in collaboration with the research foundation Zeidler-Forschungs-Stiftung and “UnternehmerTUM” Center for Innovation and Business Creation. The first, second and third place winners in the competition receive financial support from the Zeidler-Forschungs-Stiftung and coaching from TUM start-up consultants.
